Tuesday, April 24, 2012
Massage as a treatment media has been used for centuries to improve overall health, relieve stress, and relieve stiffness and muscle tension. Investigation and modern research proves that therapy with a prenatal massage can be a very good way to treatment before the mother having a baby, if it is given in the right way.

Prenatal massage is recommended during pregnancy because many pregnant women showed that the general anxiety associated with the skeletal system and circulatory system changes due to hormonal changes during pregnancy.

Research conducted 10 years ago showed that hormone levels associated with relaxation and stress, which promotes improved cardiovascular health, when massage therapy was introduced for prenatal care. Hormones such as norepinephrine and cortisol ("stress hormone") is reduced, and increased levels of dopamine and serotonin in women who do massage every two weeks for only five weeks. Changes in hormone levels reduce the difficulties during the birth and minimize the difficulties of the newborn, such as weight / low birth weight.

benefits of pregnancy massage
The study showed that massage therapy performed during pregnancy can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pain, and improve the health of newborns. Massage therapy show different needs through varying techniques, one of which is a traditional massage, which is useful for relaxing muscle tension and improve circulation of lymph and blood circulation through a softly pressure to the muscle group in the body.

There are several requirements regarding the massage of pregnant women :
1. pregnancy is not problematic -talk to your doctor about this.
2. to keep unwanted things, it is better done at womb by the age of 5 months, where the body was starting to feel more tired as the starting heavy loads.
3. performed by a trained therapist (professional) to massage pregnant women because there are certain body parts which, when massaged would cause early uterine contractions. Massage for pregnant women should only be done on certain parts like hands, feet, back, and neck. Hips, stomach and waist should not be massaged.
