People can cured from HIV!

Tuesday, June 7, 2011
HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a malignant disease incurable. But Timothy Ray Brown, who was diagnosed with HIV in 1995 became the first person who the virus can be eliminated from the body.

Timothy Ray Brown (45 years) who now live in the Bay Area, San Francisco United States is entered into the scientific journal as the first person in the history of the world that HIV virus can be eliminated from his body. Doctors call this condition as 'fuctional cure'.

While living in Berlin, Germany, Brown was known to suffer from leukemia and also HIV! At that time doctors gave it a bone marrow transplant. And apparently the result from stem cell transplants performed in 2007 has extraordinary.

So far, Brown is known as 'The Berlin Patient' who received stem cells from donors who are immune to HIV. In fact there are about 1 percent of Caucasians that immune to HIV. Those people can develop immunity against the HIV virus and later immunity is lowered into the next generation.

And now Brown is very happy for being the first person to be cured from HIV. Although still continue to be monitored by a team of doctors from San Francisco General Hospital. Brown said the only medical problems faced on that day is a disorder in speech and motor skills caused by nerve damage after treatment, but more and more this condition is getting better.

If you take the white blood cells from a person and can manipulate it so they no longer infected by HIV, and these white blood cells become the immune system as a whole to the individual. This condition is called functional cure.

Brown's medical procedures performed somewhat radical and may not be applies for many people with HIV. This is because of the difficulty in conducting stem cell transplantation and find the right donor. But this could become gate in the 'cure research' that is now getting more attention.
