Yogurt is Very Good For Children

Parents who want to suppress the disease coughs, stomach pain, or infection in their children, it is recommended to provide yogurt that probiotic-rich to their children every day.

Probiotics are living microorganisms in food supplements that have beneficial effects for the body to improve balance in the digestive tract mikroorganisem. If the balance is disturbed, bad bacteria will increase and lead to health problems.

A study conducted by a team of scientists from Georgetown University Medical Center on 600 children aged 3-6 years showed that both Lactobasillus casei strains of bacteria have a positive effect to counteract a variety of infectious diseases.

The children in the study were given daily yogurt contains good bacteria for three months. At the end of the study found the risk of gastrointestinal infection, 24 percent lower and 18 percent lower respiratory tract infections than children who drank regular yogurt.

Nevertheless, this study did not explain in detail how to ward off infection as probiotics work is not done research in the laboratory. Conclusions are based on reports from parents of children that.

Responding to the results of this study, Dr.Clifford Bassett, medical director of the Center for Allergy and asthma, New York, U.S., said further research is still needed. "There is still no guarantee if the consumption of probiotics in different doses and the other age groups of respondents would give the same results," he said.
