Protein consists of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen. Nitrogen makes protein its unique distinction from carbohydrate and fat. These component also known as amino acid. So, amino acid are the building blocks for the protein molecule. There are 20 different amino acids, and depending upon the sequence in which they appear.

The Importance of Protein
- Protein is floating around all over our body, not just in food. Our bones, tendons, ligaments, organs, muscles, hair, nails, teeth and skin are made up of protein.

-Proteins are performing specific tasks in our body. They are:
1. hormones
Hormones are proteins that regulate many body functions. Hormones signal enzymes to do their job, such as insulin level and growth.
2.Enzymes
enzymes are proteins that facilitate and accelerate chemical reactions. They are also known as protein catalysts. Every enzyme has a specific function to perform in the body.
3. Hemoglobin
hemoglobin is proteins that transport oxygen all over the body. Hemoglobin is in the blood.
4. Antibody
Antibody is protein that help fight illness and disease. They are against virus and other strange object in the body.
5. Growth and maintenance proteins
These are proteins that serve as building materials for the growth and repair of body tissues.
